The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is closed because of the storm surge.
But Washington state Gov.
Jay Inslee, who announced the state’s power outage at a press conference on Tuesday, has urged residents to avoid travel, as long as it’s safe to do so.
The National Weather Service has forecast a moderate to strong storm surge in the Puget Sound area by Tuesday night.
The storm surge will be 2 to 3 feet, with winds of 50 mph to 60 mph, according to the National Weather service.
