POLITICO title Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.) says he won’t vote for repeal bill until CBO says the bill can pass article Rep. Pete King (R) on Wednesday called on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R), saying that the House GOP is “unable to pass the American Health Care Act.”
“If we’re going to repeal and replace Obamacare, we have to get it to the president’s desk, then it has to go to the Senate,” King said on Fox News.
“And so we need to move to the next step.”
“I am opposed to the House bill.
I want the American people to have the opportunity to review the bill,” King continued.
“We can’t afford to take that risk and risk millions of Americans.
And we’ve got to make sure that if we are going to pass this bill, we are able to do that.”
King said the Senate is “not going to allow us to take this gamble, which is to take it to a vote.”
King and King’s House counterpart, Rep. John Shimkus (R–Ill.), said on Wednesday that they want to make the Senate vote on the legislation, but they’re waiting to see the CBO score before they can make any decisions.
