Power outages are reported across Hawaii after a severe weather system caused a major power outage at the state’s two largest transmission lines.
The Hawaii Public Utilities Commission says two transmission lines are down across the state.
The two lines are located in Kailua-Kona and Hilo, as well as on the island of Oahu.
Power was restored to the islands shortly after the outage, according to the commission.
The utility says it has already restored the lines and is expecting to resume transmission lines in a couple of hours.
The state’s power company says the two lines will be rerouted by a truck to the east and west of the island.
